I acquired a pair of flat tube fenders off
Craig' List.  First I had to remove the old
ones.
You don't often get to see this view of
the engine compartment.  Note the AC
compressor from a wrecked Grand
Cherokee.  I still need to run a new
serpentine belt so I can have on-board
air to run tools, air up my tires, etc.
Removal of the stock fenders required
relocation of the coolant overflow.
New Fenders installed
I was having trouble with my shackles
inverting, so I bought a set of Rugged
Ridge boomerang shackles.  This fixed
the problem, and actually smoothed out
the ride as well.
Rear boomerang shackle.  In addition to
solving the inversion problem, they
provide about 1/2 inch more lift.  You
can see how these will allow the spring
to flex past the end of the chassis.
The extra spring travel required a bit of
trimming to keep the rear tires from
rubbing.
Trimmed rear wheel well.
The next step was to add some sliders
to protect the rocker panels.  Here
Joniac is using a tubing bender.
Welding the skis
Finished rock ski.  We plan on tying the
roll cage extensions to the kicker.
You work up a sweat with a hand bender.

Now I get full flex, front and rear.
Not bad flex for a Spring-under rig.
