Half-day wading trips last approximately
four hours. The trip will take place in
the Great Smoky Mountains National
Park, or on other local waters.
Our half-day trips will offer the new or
novice angler an introduction to the
wonderful sport of fly-fishing. The trip
will begin with 45 minutes to an hour of

casting instruction. From there we will travel to the river where we will try to catch
some trout. You will learn techniques such as stalking fish, line control, and fishing
with a nymphs and dry-flies while immersing yourself in some of the most beautiful
scenery on earth.
The experienced fly-fisherman can expect to learn some advanced casting and fishing
techniques such as tight-line or high-stick nymphing. The ability to travel immediatly
to the water increases your odds of catching these extremely wary and educated trout.
Whatever your experience level, Smoky Mountain Gillies will tailor a trip to your specific
needs and desires.
We require a 50% deposit at time of booking. Deposits are refundable up to 14 days
prior to your trip. Deposits are also refundable due to weather or water conditions.
